Terms of Service

Version 0.1 (draft) Effective from launch (22 March 2027)

This policy is a draft. It will be reviewed by a Pakistani lawyer before Rizq Rasan launches, and the English text is the binding version.

These terms set out the rules for using Rizq Rasan: this website now, and the platform that will open to verified businesses and organisations from launch. Please read them with the policies they link to. Vendors also agree to the Vendor Agreement, and NGOs to the NGO Agreement. If an agreement and these terms disagree on a point, the agreement wins for that point.

1. Who we are

Rizq Rasan is being set up as Rizq Rasan (Pvt) Ltd, a private limited company. Registration with SECP in progress.

Detail Value
Company Rizq Rasan (Pvt) Ltd
SECP registration number Given here once the company is incorporated
NTN Given here once issued
Registered office Given here once the company is incorporated
Email hello@rizqrasan.pk
City Islamabad, Pakistan

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Rizq Rasan” mean Rizq Rasan (Pvt) Ltd. “You” means the organisation using Rizq Rasan and the people who act for it. A “vendor” is a food business that lists food. An “NGO” is a non-profit organisation that claims food for the people it serves. Our full company details are on the Legal Information page.

2. This website before launch

Rizq Rasan is not open for business yet. Public launch in Islamabad is planned for 22 March 2027. Until then:

  • This website explains how the platform will work. Nothing on it is an offer to sell food or a promise that the platform will open on a given date.
  • The “register your interest” forms for businesses and NGOs, the partner form and the contact form only send your details to us. Filling one in does not create an account, does not sign you up to these terms or any agreement, and puts you under no obligation. We use those details as our Privacy Policy explains.
  • Organisations invited to the pilot before launch sign separate pilot terms. During the pilot, NGOs pay vendors directly, no commission is charged, and Rizq Rasan is not involved in the payment.

These terms take effect for each organisation when it accepts them while joining the platform.

3. What Rizq Rasan does

Rizq Rasan is a technology platform that connects food businesses that have surplus food with verified NGOs that feed people.

  • We are an intermediary. The sale of food is between the vendor and the NGO. We do not prepare, cook, own, store, pack, transport or inspect food, and we never become the owner of it.
  • We verify, set rules and settle disputes. We check organisations before they can use the platform, set the listing and safety rules, and decide disputes fairly under our published policies.
  • We collect payment for the vendor. The vendor appoints Rizq Rasan as its limited agent to collect payment from the NGO. When an NGO pays Rizq Rasan for an order, that counts as paying the vendor. The details are in the Vendor Agreement.
  • We hold no balances. No user keeps a balance or wallet with us. Money collected for vendors sits in a collections account kept apart from company money until it is paid out.

4. Who can use the platform

Rizq Rasan is for organisations, not for individuals buying food for themselves. To use it:

  • you must be a food business or a non-profit organisation registered in Pakistan and operating in Islamabad, and you must pass our verification;
  • vendors must hold an NTN and an Islamabad Food Authority licence, and restaurants and cafes also their Department of Tourist Services registration;
  • NGOs must be registered under one of the routes in the NGO Agreement;
  • every person who opens an account or signs for an organisation must be at least 18 years old and allowed to act for it, shown by a board resolution or authority letter;
  • neither the organisation nor its signatories may appear on the UN Security Council sanctions list or Pakistan’s proscribed-organisations or Fourth Schedule lists. We screen every NGO and every signatory against these lists.

We can refuse an application, and we explain why when we do.

5. Accounts and verification

  • The organisation is the account holder. The organisation, not the individual, is verified, lists food, claims food and pays. Everyone who acts for it must use their own login.
  • Verification. We aim to decide on a complete application within 2 working days. If something is missing, only that part needs redoing. We re-check every organisation every 12 months and when a document expires.
  • Roles. A vendor owner can invite counter staff with a pickup-only role. An NGO can name 1 to 5 collectors, who get a collector pass instead of a login, and up to 3 people allowed to pay for it.
  • Keep it accurate and secure. Keep your details, documents and payout or payment details up to date. Keep your login details private, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used them. You are responsible for what is done through your organisation’s accounts and collector passes.
  • Acceptance records. When you accept a policy, we record which version you accepted, in which language, the time and your IP address. Under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance 2002, accepting online has the same effect as signing on paper.

6. Listings and prices

Only approved vendors can list food, and only approved NGOs can see listings. Live listings never appear on this public website. Every listing must follow these rules:

  • Price. At least Rs 1,000 and no more than 50% of the food’s retail value, in whole rupees. The price is fixed once the food is claimed.
  • Sold whole. Each listing is one batch of food at one pickup point, sold whole to one NGO.
  • True description. A real photo of the actual food (1 to 3 photos, the first required), the right category, quantity and weight, allergens, meat content and halal status. Halal shows as “vendor-declared” unless the vendor has uploaded a halal certificate.
  • Safe-until. Set from the category’s time limit. A vendor can shorten it but never extend it.
  • Pickup window. At least 30 minutes long, ending at least 60 minutes after publishing and at least 30 minutes before the safe-until time.
  • Allowed food only. No raw meat, poultry or fish at launch, and never home-cooked food, plate returns or food past its use-by date. The full list is in the Food Safety Policy.

We may hold a listing for review before it goes live, correct an obvious error, or remove a listing that breaks the rules. We tell the vendor the reason.

7. Claims, the payment deadline and when a sale is made

  • A claim is a short reservation, not a sale. When an NGO claims a listing, we hold the food for that NGO until the payment deadline: 30 minutes after claiming, or 15 minutes before pickup ends, whichever comes first.
  • No claim without time to pay. If less than 10 minutes would be left to pay, the listing cannot be claimed.
  • The sale is made at payment. The contract of sale between the vendor and the NGO is formed only when the payment is confirmed by our payment gateway.
  • If the deadline passes unpaid, the reservation ends, the order becomes “Expired unpaid” and the listing goes back on offer if there is still time. If a payment is still processing at the deadline, we hold the food for up to 15 more minutes while the gateway confirms it.
  • First come, first served. If two NGOs claim at the same moment, the platform gives the food to exactly one of them.
  • Late payments. If a payment is confirmed after the hold ended and another NGO has the food, the late payment is refunded in full automatically.

An NGO can release a claim before paying with no penalty. Leaving 3 claims to expire unpaid within 7 days pauses claiming for 24 hours.

8. Payment and fees

  • How NGOs pay. NGOs pay the full listing price when they claim, through our payment gateway PayFast: by Raast (the default) or a JazzCash or Easypaisa wallet. Card payments may be added later. Cash at pickup is never accepted.
  • What we never see. You pay on PayFast’s own page or in your bank’s app. We never receive or store your card, bank or wallet login details.
  • Our fee. Rizq Rasan keeps a commission of 5% of the listing price, services tax included, rounded down to the whole rupee. It comes out of the vendor’s share. NGOs pay the listing price with nothing added. There is no sign-up fee and no monthly charge.
  • Gateway fees. On normal sales we pay the gateway’s fee out of our commission. When a payment is refunded, the gateway keeps its fee, so whoever caused the refund bears it.
  • Vendor payouts. The vendor receives 95% of the listing price, less any tax the law requires us to withhold and the cost of any refund the vendor caused. Payouts go every Monday and Thursday, and we aim to pay within 6 working days of pickup.

For example: NGO pays Rs 1,200 · Vendor receives Rs 1,140 · Rizq Rasan Rs 60.

Receipts are always issued in the NGO’s name. Our Payments and Refunds policy and the Pricing page give more detail.

9. Pickup codes and handover

  • Once payment is confirmed, the NGO gets a 4-digit pickup code, the vendor’s address and phone number, and a collector pass to send to its driver.
  • The collector checks the food before the code is entered and may refuse food that looks unsafe.
  • The vendor or its staff type in the code, confirm the quantity handed over and tap Confirm. Only this step marks the food as picked up.
  • Five wrong codes within 10 minutes lock code entry for 10 minutes.
  • The NGO can confirm receipt or report a problem within 24 hours of pickup. If it doesn’t reply, the order is Completed. If neither side confirms anything, the order is Completed after 48 hours, the vendor is paid, and nobody’s reliability changes.

Responsibility for the food passes from the vendor to the NGO at handover.

10. Cancellations, no-shows and refunds

This is a summary. The Payments and Refunds policy covers every case and how long each refund takes.

What happens NGO gets back Other effect
Vendor cancels after the NGO paid 100% Vendor strike
Food refused at pickup as unsafe 100%, straight away Vendor strike if the refusal is upheld
Vendor closed or food not ready 100% Vendor strike
Vendor hands over less than listed The missing share, automatically Vendor strike if more than 10% short
Problem reported after pickup and upheld Full or partial, as decided Vendor strike if a food-safety complaint is upheld
NGO cancels at least 60 minutes before pickup starts 100% None
NGO cancels later, or doesn’t turn up Nothing Vendor is paid, NGO strike
Duplicate or failed payment 100%, automatically None

Strikes, freezes and suspensions follow our Reliability and No-show Policy. Strikes expire after 60 days. One strike brings a warning, two a 48-hour freeze on new claims or listings, and three a 7-day suspension and review. Every strike comes with a written reason and can be appealed.

11. How you must behave

You agree to use Rizq Rasan honestly and lawfully, and to follow our Acceptable Use policy and Community Guidelines. In particular, you must not:

  • give false information or upload forged or altered documents;
  • list food you are not allowed to sell, or describe food untruthfully;
  • resell food claimed through Rizq Rasan, or use it for any commercial purpose;
  • arrange deals off the platform with an organisation you met through it, to avoid the commission;
  • copy, scrape or collect listings or other users’ details;
  • harass, threaten or abuse anyone, including vendor staff, collectors and our team;
  • try to break, overload or get around the platform’s security, timers or payment checks.

Uploading forged documents or reselling claimed food leads to permanent removal.

12. Photos and other content you add

You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, reports and other content you add. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize and show that content as needed to run Rizq Rasan: for example, showing a listing’s photos to approved NGOs, or using photos and reports to decide a dispute or a food-safety case.

We will not use your organisation’s name, logo or photos in public, such as on this website or in press material, without your written permission. You promise that you have the right to share what you upload, and that photos show food, not people, unless everyone shown has agreed. Photos are shrunk before upload, which also removes location data.

The Rizq Rasan name, logo, website and platform belong to us. You may not copy them or suggest that we endorse you without our written permission.

13. Suspension and termination

  • By you. You can close your account at any time once you have no open orders. Some records stay after closure because the law requires it, as our Data Retention policy explains.
  • By us. We can suspend or remove an organisation that breaks these terms, its agreement or the law, puts food safety or other users at risk, or no longer meets the eligibility rules. We give a written reason, and you can appeal a strike within 24 hours and a suspension within 7 days. A person reviews every appeal.
  • Open orders. If a vendor is suspended, its listings are hidden and its paid orders are refunded. If an NGO is suspended, its paid orders can still be collected unless we decide otherwise.
  • What survives. Money owed, refunds, indemnities, limits of liability and record-keeping continue after an account ends.

14. Disclaimers

  • The vendor is responsible for the food, and for the listing being true, until handover. The NGO is responsible for the food after it.
  • Verification lowers the risk of dealing with a bad actor, but it does not guarantee how any organisation will behave.
  • We do not promise that food will be listed, claimed or collected, or that the platform will always be available or free of errors.
  • Impact figures such as meals and carbon savings are estimates.

Read the full Disclaimer. Nothing in these terms removes rights that Pakistani law says cannot be removed.

15. Limits on our liability

These limits will be reviewed by a Pakistani lawyer before launch.

  • Our total liability to you for anything connected with an order is limited to the commission we received on that order.
  • For any claim not connected with an order, the limit will be confirmed after legal review and published here before launch.
  • We are not liable for illness, loss or damage caused by food, which is the responsibility of the vendor until handover and of the NGO after it.
  • We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit or lost donations.
  • None of these limits apply to loss caused by our own negligence or fraud, or to any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

16. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover Rizq Rasan’s reasonable losses, costs and claims made against us that arise from your breach of these terms or your agreement, your breach of the law, or, for vendors, unsafe or wrongly described food, and, for NGOs, the handling, use or resale of food after pickup.

17. Events outside anyone’s control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as internet shutdowns, power cuts, payment network failures, natural disasters or orders from the authorities. If payments or the network go down, we can pause every payment countdown and add the lost time back. No strikes are given for a missed deadline or pickup caused by such an outage.

18. Changes to these terms

We will tell you about material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and show the new version number and effective date on this page. If the law or a safety risk requires a change sooner, we will tell you as soon as we can. If you don’t agree with a change, you can close your account before it takes effect. If you keep using Rizq Rasan after that date, the new terms apply to you.

19. Disputes and governing law

  • Talk to us first. Order disputes follow our Complaints and Disputes policy: disputes are acknowledged within 4 working hours and decided within 48 hours, or within 24 hours for food safety. General complaints are acknowledged within 1 working day and resolved within 5 working days.
  • Disputes between vendors and NGOs. We help settle them under our policies, but we do not become a party to the sale.
  • Mediation. If a dispute with us is not settled, either side can propose mediation under the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act 2017 before going to court.
  • Law and courts. These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts at Islamabad have exclusive jurisdiction. The dispute wording will be confirmed by a Pakistani lawyer before launch.

20. General

  • Language. These terms are written in English, and the English text is binding. Any Urdu summary is there to help you understand them.
  • Notices. We send notices to the email address on your organisation’s account. You can send notices to hello@rizqrasan.pk.
  • Transfer. You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them to a company that takes over Rizq Rasan, and we will tell you if we do.
  • If part fails. If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
  • Whole agreement. These terms, the policies they link to and your Vendor or NGO Agreement are the whole agreement between you and us about using Rizq Rasan.
