Less food in the bin

Food you couldn't sell goes to organisations we've checked, which serve it to people who need it.

A monthly impact certificate

Kilograms passed on, meals and CO2e avoided, ready for social media and your CSR reports.

A minute to list

Four short steps on your phone, pre-filled from your last listing. NGOs come to you, and WhatsApp tells you when one has claimed and paid.

Who can join

Food businesses in Islamabad with the right licences

Restaurants, bakeries, grocers and supermarkets, and cafes can list. Hotels and caterers can register their interest now and will join once our safety processes are proven. Every business needs an NTN and an Islamabad Food Authority licence. Restaurants and cafes also need their Department of Tourist Services registration.

We're starting close to the first NGOs we sign, in two zones: F-6, F-7 and Blue Area, and G-9 to G-11, F-10 and F-11. Bakeries come first, because their surplus is daily. Sign-ups open across Islamabad at launch.

At launch, each business lists from one pickup point. If you run several branches, tell us when you register.

Documents

What you'll need to send

Have these ready and verification takes 2 working days. If something is missing, we'll tell you exactly what, and only that part needs redoing.

Why an NTN? Since July 2025, FBR rules bar online marketplaces from serving sellers without one.

Once accounts open, you'll upload each document by camera or file, as a JPG, PNG or PDF of up to 10 MB. Only our verification team sees them. They're stored privately, every view is logged, and your signatory's CNIC is shown masked.

We'll also do a video call or a site visit with each of our first 20 partners.

  • Business registration: your SECP certificate, partnership deed, or a sole proprietor's CNIC and declaration.
  • NTN: we check it against FBR's Active Taxpayer List.
  • Islamabad Food Authority licence.
  • Department of Tourist Services registration, for restaurants and cafes.
  • Signatory: the CNIC of the person who signs for the business, with a board resolution or authority letter.
  • Bank letter: an account maintenance certificate in the business name. Payouts go only to this account.
  • Address proof for your pickup point.
  • Optional, a halal certificate: your listings then show "halal-certified" instead of "vendor-declared".

Getting paid

Paid every Monday and Thursday

Rizq Rasan will pay you twice a week by bank transfer. An order is paid once it's Completed, or a confirmed no-show, and the payment gateway has settled the money.

Payout days
Every Monday and Thursday
Our promise
Within 6 working days of pickup
Paid to
A bank account in your business name
You receive
95% of the listing price, before any tax the law requires us to withhold

Each payout comes with an email listing every order, the commission, any tax withheld and the bank reference, plus a tax invoice for the commission.

Only an order under dispute is held back. Your other orders are paid as normal. If you change your payout account, payouts pause for 48 hours and the owner gets an email, to stop fraud.

During the January 2027 pilot, NGOs will pay you directly, to your own Raast QR or account, and you confirm "Payment received". No commission is charged during the pilot.

Example One order after launch

  1. An NGO claims and pays

It pays Rs 1,200 by Raast for your 40 naan. You get a WhatsApp message to get the food ready.

    Tuesday 13 April 2027, 9:15 pm
  2. You hand over the food

Your counter staff type the NGO's 4-digit code and confirm the full quantity.

    Tuesday 13 April, 10:15 pm
  3. The order is Completed

The NGO confirms everything arrived, or 24 hours pass with no problem reported.

By Wednesday 14 April, 10:15 pm
  4. The payment settles

PayFast settles the money into Rizq Rasan's collections account, usually 2 to 3 working days after payment.

Thursday 15 or Friday 16 April
  5. You're paid Rs 1,140

NGO pays Rs 1,200 · You receive Rs 1,140 · Rizq Rasan Rs 60. It goes out in the first payout run after the money settles: Monday 19 April, or Thursday 15 April if it settles in time for that run. Either way, that's within 6 working days of pickup.

    Monday 19 April

Food rules in brief

Food rules in brief

Selling food, rather than giving it away, means food laws apply in full. So the rules are strict from day one.

What you can list from the start of the pilot

Tandoor breads, plain bakery, mithai, fruit and vegetables, packaged goods and drinks. Cooked food such as rice, curries and fried snacks is planned from 1 February 2027, if the pilot's first 4 weeks pass with no food incident.

Never allowed

Home-cooked food, plate returns or part-eaten food, food past its use-by date, opened dairy drinks, recalled products, alcohol and tobacco. No raw meat, poultry or fish at launch.

A time limit for every category

Safe-until fills in from the category limit. You can shorten it but never extend it, and pickup must end at least 30 minutes before it. Cooked food can spend at most 2 hours at room temperature, and from May to September it must be hot-held or chilled.

Yours until handover

Before publishing, you confirm the food was never served to customers, isn't a plate return, and has been stored correctly. You tell us about any food incident or Islamabad Food Authority action within 24 hours.

For your CSR report

Monthly impact certificate

Each month you'll be able to download an impact certificate for social media, CSR reports and your own records.

It counts completed orders only. Weight is what you declared on each listing. Meals are worked out at 420 g a meal, the most cautious published factor, and CO2e avoided at 2.5 kg for every kg of food, which is an estimate.

FAQ

Questions businesses ask

Who can list food on Rizq Rasan?

Restaurants, bakeries, grocers and cafes in Islamabad with an NTN and an Islamabad Food Authority licence. Restaurants and cafes also need their Department of Tourist Services registration. We check every business before it can list.

How much do I earn from a listing?

You set a recovery price of at least Rs 1,000 and no more than half the food's retail value. You keep 95% of that price. Any tax the law requires us to withhold is shown line by line on your statement.

When do I get paid?

Payouts go out every Monday and Thursday by bank transfer to an account in your business name, for orders that are complete and settled by the payment gateway. We promise payment within 6 working days of pickup.

What happens if nobody claims my food?

The listing ends when its pickup window closes, and nothing is charged. We'll send you tips, such as an earlier pickup window or a lower price.

What if the NGO doesn't turn up?

Thirty minutes after the pickup window ends we ask you whether they collected. If they didn't, you are still paid and the NGO gets a strike.

Can my counter staff hand over food without seeing our money?

Yes. Owners can invite staff with a pickup-only role. Staff see today's pickups and type in pickup codes, but cannot list food or see earnings.
